When starting Muay Thai classes, it's essential to have the right gear and equipment to ensure your safety, comfort and effectiveness in training. Here's a guide with everything you need to know.

Free Trial - When coming in for your Free Trial class all you will need is some comfortable clothing to exercise in, a towel for personal hygiene and a water bottle to keep you hydrated during class. If you already own a pair of boxing gloves you're welcome to bring them in as well.

*All required gear will be loaned to students during trial lessons.

Once students have started their Muaythai Journey it is essential for you to have your own gear.

  1. Hand Wraps: These are crucial for protecting your wrists and knuckles during training.

  2. Boxing Gloves: Invest in a good pair of boxing gloves suitable for Muay Thai training. Look for gloves with adequate padding to protect your hands and wrists. Beginners usually start with 10 oz gloves for hitting pads and 16 oz gloves for sparring drills.

  3. Shin Guards: Shin guards protect your shins and feet during drills.

  4. Advanced gear: For students excelling in Muaythai and attending sparring and fighters classes, a groin guard (for males), mouth guard, head gear and elbow pads are essential.

Before purchasing gear check with your gym or instructor for any specific requirements or recommendations they may have. Investing in quality gear will not only enhance your training experience but also help prevent injuries and ensure you get the most out of your Muay Thai classes.
